FAQs
What are you current wait times?
Wait times is something I do my best to keep to a minimum as I understand the importance of receiving support sooner rather than later. This said, wait times are generally no longer than 2-4 weeks.
Do i need a GP referral to see you?
No, you don’t. All you need to do is reach out and we will get you booked in and onboarded within the practice. This means you are quickly booked in and responded to within a 48 hour window during the business week. It also means that there is complete privacy and confidentiality as no letters or reports are needed from a third party.
What are your session fees?
JKHT is a private practice with session fees ranging from $220 - $250 per session. Payment plans are available as are employer contributions towards your well-being. (This may be worth talking to your employer about.)
I would love to work with you but finances are a bit tight, what can I do?
I understand that finances need to be considered and where possible I want to help remove any barriers, so I have a few options available to help here.
I offer payment plans which is agreed upon and set up for each individual client, so please reach out if this is something that would help, we can easily do this for you.
As mentioned the JKHT Private Practice fees range from $220 - $250 per session and this reflects Jo’s level of experience and skill, academic education and ongoing learning and continuously up levelling and growing her therapy skills.
Outside of the above two options some others that may be helpful include:
Spacing out your appointments so they feel financially comfortable. You are in control and I will 100% work in with what is best for you here.
And if appropriate you could ask your workplace to pay for or contribute towards your sessions. A lot of work places happily do this.
How many sessions will i need?
Whilst I cannot give you an exact number as it varies for each person, I can share that within the JKHT Private Practice we have a guideline of not working with clients initially for less than 3 sessions, this is because I strongly feel that anything less than this is a band-aid approach.
I genuinely care about my clients and want you to experience true + positive change and lasting + sustainable wellbeing.
I work collaboratively with clients who want to create results and outcomes for their mental, emotional and overall wellbeing and that want to have a therapist in their corner that they can build a genuine relationship with.
I am the therapist who has your back every step, the therapist who remembers the names of your family and important people, who knows your triggers, reactions and responses perceptively and can see your themes, patterns and emotional responses quite often before you notice them yourself.
So for this reason, it is standard of care within the practice that it is a 3 session minimum, from here we will develop a personalised wellness plan for you moving forward, this may be further sessions packaged or stand alone sessions as and when needed. But the good news is you will be a client on the books within the practice and will remain so, ensuring you always have professional counselling support and care when you need it.
I truly am in your corner.
